29-Year-Old Man arrested Over Alleged Drug Importation

A 29-year-old Italian man was arrested after police carried out a controlled delivery.
The investigation began after authorities identified a package arriving in Malta from abroad, which was found to contain a substance suspected to be MDMA.
On Thursday morning, police delivered the package to the listed address in Gżira, where the Italian national collected it. He was immediately arrested.
The package is reported to have contained around four kilogrammes of MDMA, with an estimated street value of €200,000.
The 29-year-old man is expected to be arraigned in court today at around 11:30am.
