28.8% Of Malta’s 16+ Olds Can’t Afford 1 Week Holiday Abroad

According to new statistics by Eurostat, 28.8% of Maltese citizens aged 16 or older could not afford 1 week of annual holidays away from home in 2024.
The report revealed that, last year, 27.0% of the EU’s 16+ population could not afford the 1 week annual holiday abroad, with the country hit worst being Romania at 58.6%.
Greece and Bulgaria followed closely at 46.0% and 41.4% respectively. Meanwhile, Luxembourg was the worst hit, with just 8.9% of its 16+ population not being able to afford the same holiday time.
Sweden and Netherlands followed closely at 11.6% and 13.0% respectively.
