23.6% Of Maltese Private Households Have Kids

According to data released by Eurostat, 23.5% of Maltese households had children in 2024.
Of these, 28 households only had one child, with this being the most common not just in Malta but even across the EU.
17.3 households had 2 children whereas 6.6 households had 3 or more.
In 2024, the EU had around 202 million private households, with 23.6% of these including children.
Slovakia register the highest amount of households with children at 35.6%, followed by Ireland and Cyprus at 31.0% and 28.6% respectively.
The lowest rates were registered in 18.0%, followed by Lithuania and Germany at 19.6% and 20.1%.
