22-Year-Old Woman From Qala At Risk Of Dying In Traffic Accident In Gozo

Yesterday morning, at around a quarter to four (03:45), the police were informed of a traffic accident on Triq l-Imġarr, Għajnsielem, Gozo.

The police immediately attended the scene, and initial investigations revealed that a BMW 118D, driven by a 22-year-old woman from Qala, had collided with a lamp post. The vehicle was also carrying a 23-year-old woman from Għajnsielem and a 21-year-old man from Sannat.

A medical team was called to the scene, and the passengers were taken to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance. The driver was taken later due to being in shock. The police later reported that the young man had not sustained any injuries and that the 23-year-old woman was in stable condition.

However, at around 6:00 pm, the police were informed that the condition of the young woman had worsened, and she was certified to be suffering from serious injuries.

Investigations are still ongoing.
