1st Demonstration Against Planning Reforms Today

Activist group Moviment Graffitti announced the first demonstration in regards to the planning reforms which they argue will ‘dismantle the safeguards in environmental and planning matters.’

‘Today at 6pm, we invite you to join us for the first action to stop this so-called reform which will give Malta’s sharks the power to do whatever they want’, Moviment Graffitti explained in a statement.

‘As soon as they saw the public’s strong anger towards these laws, yesterday they came out with smoke and mirrors to mislead people about the truth of this radical change they want to implement.’

The demonstration is set to ‘explain how these laws will lead to uncontrolled devastation in our country by giving dictatorial powers to the Planning Authority and hindering residents, farmers, and organisations from effectively appealing the rotten decisions being taken.’
