Men with better chances if they have a dog in their dating profile photo

Men with better chances if they have a dog in their dating profile photo

A new study has revealed that men who include a cute canine in their pictures of online dating apps are perceived as more attractive by potential matches.

Researchers at the University of Jaen in Spain collected data from 300 female university students. They found that women feel at ease with men with dogs in photos.

However, there is a bit of a catch. Not just any furry friend will do it as the size of the animal also made a difference when swiping right or left.

Men with smaller dogs were perceived to be less threatening and intimidating. One of the researchers said that the study shows how small sized dogs prompts more positive emotional reactivity and higher levels of safety.

And yet, many men have already embraced this so much so that the term ‘dog fishing’ has emerged in recent years. This refers to guys on dating apps trying to lure in more matches with adorable dogs in their snaps.

Some guys have also been known to ‘borrow’ other people’s dogs. A way around this, as touted by women who see through the mirage, is to ask about the name and age. This will usually prompt guys to reveal that it is not their dog.

Start of Summer’s End? Rain showers and possible thunderstorms ahead

Start of Summer’s End? Rain showers and possible thunderstorms ahead
Aug 22 2022 Share

Weather forecasters are predicting a high possibility of rain showers, and even thunderstorms, in the coming days in what could be the beginning to the end of summer 2022.

According to Malta Weather Facebook page, an upper level cold pool of air is moving towards the central Mediterranean.

‘This is generating instability and giving rise to localised cumulus and potentially cumulonimbus clouds producing isolated RAIN showers that may be heavy and/or thundery in places across Malta and Gozo until next Tuesday.’

This forecast comes with a rate of 60% confidence. According to Malta International Airport weather forecasts, temperatures are set to feel like 32 degrees Celsius. This will give way to partly cloudy days all throughout the week.

Other Facebook page ‘It-Temp Madwarna’ also stated how the sea temperature is currently at around 29 degrees Celsius, which is around 2 °C higher than August’s average. Winds will go down from a Force 5 to a Force 3 by Tuesday.
