Neil Agius Pushes Limits On Final Day Of Gozo 7 Challenge

Endurance swimmer Neil Agius completed his extraordinary Gozo 7 challenge, swimming around Gozo for seven consecutive days. So far each day, he covered roughly a marathon distance of 42 kilometres, spending up to 15 hours in the water.

As the final day approached, a member of Neil’s team said, “Neil is reaching his limit, but he is going to keep pushing and see how far we could go.”
The challenge, deliberately designed to test the edge of human endurance, explored how body and mind respond to extreme strain, as well as recovery and resilience.
A scientific team monitored Neil daily, tracking his physical and mental state throughout the feat. Neil, who previously completed a record-breaking 140-kilometre nonstop swim around Malta, Gozo, and Comino, said of the Gozo 7 challenge: “This was about seeing how far I could push my body and mind while learning how to recover and stay resilient.”
Good Luck Neil!
