1 Week Left To Apply For Malta Sustainable Development Action Awards

With just one week remaining, individuals and organisations across Malta and Gozo are encouraged to submit their applications for the 2025 edition of the Sustainable Development Action Awards.

The deadline for entries is Friday, 8 August 2025. So take that chance!

Organised by the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness, the awards celebrate outstanding projects that contribute to economic, social and environmental sustainability.

The initiative aims to recognise the efforts of those making a meaningful difference in their communities and the wider Maltese Islands.

Eligible applicants include individuals, NGOs, businesses, academic teams and public institutions. Projects must have started in 2023 or later and clearly demonstrate sustainable benefits.

There are eight award categories, each aligned with Malta’s Sustainable Development Strategy.

Applicants must be residents of Malta or Gozo and aged 18 or older, unless applying for the Youth Leadership Award, in which case a parent or guardian must submit the application.

All applications must be submitted through the official Sustainable Development website, along with relevant supporting documents.

Submissions will be judged on impact, innovation and potential for replication, with shortlisted entries proceeding to a public vote.
