€2.2 Billion Generated Through Tourism Till August 2024

Oct 31 2024 Share

Recent budget data reveals that Malta’s tourism sector generated €2.2 billion between January and August 2024, marking a 23% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2023.

With €2.7 billion recorded for the entirety of 2023, this year’s revenues are already approaching that amount, and the government anticipates surpassing €3 billion by year’s end.

The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) has announced plans to refine its focus, aiming to optimize visitor stays by slightly reducing average visit lengths to accommodate more tourists annually.

In addition, the MTA intends to target high-value, long-haul travelers from regions like North America, Australia, and Latin America, supported by Malta’s expanding network of international routes.

Winter tourism also remains a key focus area, with winter visitor numbers more than doubling over the past decade, from 514,273 to 1,272,059.

This growth reflects a successful strategy to make Malta an appealing year-round destination, expanding its tourism appeal beyond the traditional summer months.

Batmobile Replica Goes For Sale at $3 Million

Batmobile Replica Goes For Sale at $3 Million
Oct 31 2024 Share

Diehard Batman enthusiasts have a rare opportunity to own a piece of cinematic history with a replica of the Batmobile, famously known as the Tumbler, from the Dark Knight trilogy. Priced at a staggering $3 million, this meticulously crafted replica is the first to be officially sanctioned by Warner Bros. and built by Action Vehicle Engineering.

The replica mirrors the iconic Batmobile’s rugged design and advanced features, including automatic transmission, stainless steel headers, and sophisticated onboard software. While it lacks the flames of the movie version, it still emulates the jet engine’s roar, bringing fans as close as possible to the Batman experience.

Though fully functional, the Batmobile replica is not street-legal, limiting its use to private displays rather than public roads. Weighing over 5,000 pounds, it is as imposing as it is impressive – a true statement piece for any collector’s home.

Limited to just ten units, interested buyers need to apply for allocation. After putting down a deposit, fans will have to wait approximately 15 months before their Batmobile is ready for delivery.
