41 year old football legend of his own right Zlatan Ibrahimovic has officially announced his retirement from the sport. 

The AC Milan Striker revealed that he has decided to end his career on the San Siri pitch following the club’s final game of the Serie A season. 

The Swedish player got emotional as Milan fans held up a large Tifo spelling out ‘GODBYE’, before being given a guard of honour by his teammates as he left the pitch. 

Ibrahimovic’s contract expires at the end of June, having already announced that he will not be renewing it following various injuries. 

Speaking at full-time, the player said that he has so many memories and has lived so many emotions. ‘The first time I arrived her you gave me happiness. The second time love.’ 

He went on thank his second family (the players), the head coach and his staff, as well as the fans. ‘You welcomed me with open arms’ he told the latter, ‘you made me feel at home.’

Neil Agius has suffered some nasty jellyfish stings as he continues to train, starting in the early hours of the morning, for the upcoming Palma to Ibiza swim. 

He was first stung with 15 intense ones as he kicked off his 3 days of 12 hour sets. ‘Difficulty level: 9/10’ he said. ‘The pain through so many stings was something I have never experienced before. These guys packed a punch.’

He soon dove back into the water but was stung within 20 minutes on his quad. This training session seemed to be more gruelling than the one before, ranking it with a 10/10 difficulty. 

‘I can’t actually believe it but, yes, today was more intense. Today started exactly where we left off yesterday’.

‘At this point it was still 2:45 and pitch black. Getting stung at night brought out a level of insecurity I never knew possible. Today was very humbling’ wrote Agius.

For his last round, he turned to the pool, but Neil will soon be diving back into the sea later this month to undertake over 70 hours of swimming and establish another world record.

44 year old diver in Gżira dies after finding difficulty

44 year old diver in Gżira dies after finding difficulty

Yesterday, at around 1730hrs, police were informed that their assistance was needed due to a person finding difficulty swimming in the area of Manoel Island, Gżira. 

Police and a medical team convened immediately on site and found that a diver had been taken out of the water by people who were with him. 

The medical team administered first aid immediately and transported him to Mater Dei for further care. Unfortunately, he was later certified to have passed away.

Later on, the victim was identified as a 44-year-old Russian. 

An inquiry has been opened as police investigations carry on.
