The Malta Police Force is calling on dedicated individuals to step forward and join as Police Constables. This recruitment drive invites applicants to become part of a trusted, professional, and committed team serving at the heart of Malta’s justice system.

A newly released promotional video highlights the intense, rewarding nature of the role—from high-pressure situations to moments of community support.

Police constables are more than enforcers of the law; they are protectors, listeners, and leaders on the frontline of public service.

Applicants who are ready to take on the challenge can apply through pulizija.gov.mt/calls, where the recruitment process begins. The Force is looking for individuals with integrity, resilience, and a strong sense of duty—people who are ready to be part of something greater than themselves. Successful applicants will benefit from an extensive training programme that is jointly accredited by the University of Malta and the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority at MQF Level 4.

Being a police officer isn’t easy, but it is one of the most fulfilling careers out there. Every day brings a chance to support victims, preserve justice, and ensure the safety of our communities.

This is your chance to make a difference! Join the Malta Police Force and help shape a safer Malta.

New Mental Health First Aid Course Launched for Communities in Malta

May 16 2025 Share

A new initiative aimed at strengthening mental health support in Maltese communities has been launched under the theme “Investing in Each Other’s Mental Health.”

The programme, introduced by Health and Active Ageing Minister Jo Etienne Abela and Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli, includes free Mental Health First Aid courses for the public.

Developed in collaboration with Richmond Foundation, the courses will provide individuals with the knowledge and tools to offer initial support to someone experiencing mental health challenges.

Similar to traditional first aid, these courses are not intended as therapy or support groups but as an educational tool to empower communities.

During the launch, it was highlighted that one in four people in Malta will experience a mental health condition at some point in their lives. However, stigma remains a major barrier to seeking help.

Minister Abela emphasised the need to shift perceptions, saying that seeking help should be seen as a strength, not a weakness.

The courses form part of broader mental health initiatives announced in Budget 2025. Zerafa Civelli added that local councils will play a central role in promoting healthier, more resilient communities through this programme. The first phase will be open to all families and citizens.
