What started as an online joke last year spiralled into a friendly gathering of more than a hundred individuals named Josh to determine which of them deserves the title of the ‘Ultimate Josh.’ Josh Swain from Arizona added several other people named Josh, stating ‘There can only be one’. The joke eventually led to deciding on a date and place where all the Josh’s convened to battle it out with pool noodles.

Hundreds of people named Josh made their way to Lincoln, Nebraska after the screenshot of the message on Facebook went viral on Twitter. The winner? Swain declared 4-year old Joshua Vinson Jr, who wielded a red noodle, as the ultimate Josh. The event even raised over $8000 for Children’s Omaha hospital and a large amount of food for Food Bank Lincoln.

Following the news that 50% of the Maltese adult population has received the vaccine, it was also announced that more than 100,000 people have been vaccinated with the second dose. With a total of 313,279 vaccines administered, 100,686 of said total were second doses.

The vaccine rollout is helping authorities with the goal of achieving population immunity from COVID-19 and to reduce several health measures currently put in place. With over 40s applying to get their jab, the roll out has been immensely effective in mitigating the spread as daily cases decrease substantially. Malta is currently using Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines.

Malta has registered 15 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 1,449 swab tests, while 58 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

As of Monday 26th April 2021, 313,279 vaccine doses were administered of which 100,686 were 2nd doses.

To date, Malta has registered 30,189 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 29,354 have recovered, 413 died and 422 are still active.
