Workers in Iraq given day off due to scorching heat as temperatures exceed 50°C

Government employees in multiple parts of Iraq have been given a day off work after temperatures reportedly exceeded 50 degrees celsius.

Multiple Iraqi cities made the list of hottest places in the world on Thursday as work was suspended in 10 provinces across the country, Kurdistan24 reported.

With Iraq being one of the hottest places on Earth, scorching temperatures are not something the country is unfamiliar with, but residents have admitted that conditions are getting worse.

Offices are reportedly closed for thousands of employees as power cuts, lack of air conditioning and stifling heat have made it impossible to work.

It seems that influencer Kim Kardashian & comedian Pete Davidson have called it quits after nine months of dating.

The two were first linked romantically in October 2021, where they had widespread attention from the media after Kardashian’s split from superstar rapper Kanye West.

E! News was the first to break the news of the two celebrities’ split, with an insider suggesting that part of the reason behind their split is “because of their busy schedules” since they both travel often.

Following her split with West, Kim Kardashian reportedly endured a “very dark time” where Pete Davidson was called “the best antidote”.

Police investigating dead body found in Zejtun field

Police officers as well as medical emergency responders are on site in Zejtun investigating a dead body found in a field.

The body was found in Triq Anton Buttigieg, with TVM reporting that the body belongs to a male whose identity is as of yet unidentified.

It is unknown what led to the death of the victim, and it is unknown if foul play was involved. The man was certified dead on the scene as the road was closed off for investigations.

Victim has been identified as Antoine Degabriele. Police are urging perpetrator to come forward as they continue their investigations.

Hollywood star Selena Gomez recently posted a TikTok where she continued to spread body positivity, saying that real stomachs are back ahead of a scorching summer which will see the comeback of beach swimsuits.

In the video, Gomez was seen living her best life on a yacht whilst capturing audio telling her to ‘suck it in’, referring to her stomach. The former Disney star claps back and says “I’m not sucking s—t in. Real stomachs is coming the f—k back, OK?”

Many praised the video’s message with one person commenting “QUEEN ENERGY.” Another fan also admitted that “She’s the reason I’m so comfortable in my own skin.”

There were many other positive comments praising the 30 year old with one even saying “I never follow celebrities on TT because I don’t want to mess up my algorithm lol. You have been my only exception to that.”

After being off all social media for nearly 4 years, Selena Gomez has been using her massive platform to spread awareness on various topics such as body positivity and mental health.

Last April, Gomez called out body-shamers on social media, saying being skinny is not worth it as it requires her to not eat the food that makes her happy and because “people bitch about it [her weight] anyway.”
