Worker At Risk Of Dying After Falling Off Ladder In Raħal Ġdid

Today, at around 0915hrs, police were informed by the health authorities that earlier in the day a man had been admitted to Mater Dei Hospital after he was injured in a factory found at Vjal Sir Paul Boffa, Raħal Ġdid.

Preliminary investigations showed that the man, a 56 year old from Iklin, was injured after he fell off a ladder whilst at work.

A medical team was called on site and transported him to Mater Dei Hospital for further care. He was later certified as having suffered serious injuries.

Police and members of the Health and Safety Authority are investigating.

Malta Successfully Hosts U16 Waterpolo Championships 2024

Malta has successfully hosted the U16 Waterpolo Championships 2024, with Spain emerging victorious during their run here.

As for Malta, they finished in overall 17th place after beating Israel 11 to 8. Education and Sport Minister Clifton Grima posted to social media congratulating the Maltese team as well as the staff who made sure the competition was held successfully.

A statement by SportMalta also congratulated the Maltese team for acquiring 17th place among the 32 participating teams.
