Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne took to Twitter to announce that the Maltese government plans to create a woodland area in commemoration of all those who have passed away due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The news was announced on the first anniversary of the virus’ first death – a 92-year-old Gozitan woman.

The death hit the 400 mark on Wednesday, adding one more as of 8th April 2021. Details about the project are not yet disclosed except that this is in memory of all those who we have lost to the pandemic and all those who experienced the losses directly.
