While it may not be the first time we’ve heard that the pandemic has affected our lives and livelihoods, we must take note that the disastrous effects of this virus have crushed the lives and families of many, with particular individuals turning their lives upside down to keep up.
Lisa Racine is a testament to this as the 58-year-old, full-time project manager took on a part-time job at a Minnesota nursing home, where she works two to three nights a week stocking cupboards, washing plates, cleaning floors and serving food in order to spend time with her 87-year-old father.
In an interview with CNN, Racine said that she would go to her father’s room at the end of her shift and spend anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour-and-a-half near her father, depending on how he was feeling.
