An 81-year old Maltese woman has sadly died after being struck while crossing a road in her residence, Qrendi. The incident happened this morning as the woman was struck by a 30-year old woman driving a Volkswagen vehicle. The victim reportedly died on site, crossing Triq it-Tempesta in Maqluba around 8pm. Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit was appointed to oversee inquiry into the death.

After Prime Minister Robert Abela claimed that some ‘ugly’ allegations have been made against opposition leader, Adrian Delia takes to Facebook to challenge either the Prime Minister or any of his representatives for a public debate. The challenge was issued by Delia to address what is allegedly, as stated by Delia, the truth and uncover ‘pointless lies’.
Delia addressed the Prime Minister, stating that he does not get to dictate what the PN leader does, after Abela stated how there are shocking allegations against the opposition leader but current PN leader Bernard Grech did not act. According to Abela, this was done to keep Delia quiet. Delia stated how he is not running away from the allegations and will not let them create divisions within the PN.

Israeli authorities have announced that they will be putting COVID-19 vaccine passes into effect so that citizens can be able to prove that they have received a vaccination.
People will be able to access the passport through an application and will allow entry into certain place such as hotels, gyms and theatres amongst other establishments, making citizens able to prove that they are vaccinated.
Israel has also reached agreements with Greece and Cyprus, where the countries will recognise their respective green badges, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reports that extra vaccines will be sent to some of Israel’s allies.

Malta has registered 263 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,047 swab tests, while 192 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.
As of Saturday 27th February 2021, 77,967 vaccine doses were administered of which 26,781 were 2nd doses.
To date, Malta has registered 22,482 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 19,447 have recovered, 315 died and 2,720 are still active.
