May 16 2022 Share

Local singer and songwriter Gaia Cauchi has continued to remind us what an absolute star she is through her TikTok videos, performing covers of international acclaim with her own twist.

Cauchi has had a stellar career, both locally and internationally, having been the first Maltese to win the Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2013 with her song ‘The Start.’

She has been making waves ever since, even going on to audition for the 15th series of The X-Factor, being placed in the group ‘Sweet Sense’. The group managed to make it to the Judges’ Houses round.

In 2019, she went on to release her single ‘Why Should I’, and more recently, she placed in 11th place in Muzika Muzika wither her song ‘Kewkba Feggeja’.

Gaia has already established herself as a powerhouse in the music industry and, given her connection with Eurovision, could earn the island some of the top spots in the contest once more. And maybe even win it for the island as she once did in the junior version…

Maltese teacher asks students to help choose her wedding dress

Maltese teacher asks students to help choose her wedding dress
May 16 2022 Share

Local teacher Shanice, known by her Instagram handle as ‘My Life with Pixie Dust’, decided to spice up her choosing of her wedding dress in an educational format.

She decided to leave it up to her primary school students to choose what she will wear on her special day. However, she did not just ask them to pin point their favourite dress.

She decided to incorporate the subject of tallying she taught her students during mathematics to practice whilst doing this exciting activity. And the students were absolutely loving it.

Shanice kept her decision to include her students, who she finds ‘extra special’, a secret from her friends and family. And the pupils ate the exercise up, whilst sharpening their mathematics skills in the process.

All the fun aside, Shanice showed us how students absolutely engage with learning subjects when they are invested in it in a fun way. Posting to her story, Shanice revealed that even 7 year old kids know how to choose the best dress.
