Woman At Risk Of Dying After Falling Off Balcony In Tal-Pieta

Today, at around 0200hrs, police were informed that their assistance was needed in Triq San Ġużepp, Tal-Pieta.

Police convened immediately on site and preliminary investigations showed that a 29 year old woman from Nepal and resident of the same locality had fallen two storeys from a balcony. 

A medical team transported the woman to Mater Dei Hospital, where she was confirmed as having suffered serious injuries. 

An inquiry has been opened as police investigations continue.

Her career took flight in 2020 with her debut single “Va tutto bene” and EP “Monolocale,” followed by notable performances and tours in 2021. 

Despite not making the cut in the Sanremo Giovani stage, Mango’s perseverance paid off in subsequent years. Signing with Sony Music, she collaborated with renowned producers, achieving commercial success with hits like “Ci pensiamo domani” and “Che t’o dico a fa’.”

In 2024, Mango’s victory at Sanremo paved the way for a potential representation at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö. 

The decision to accept this opportunity rests with Mango, with the Italian broadcaster RAI poised to select an alternative if she declines. The announcement is anticipated at a forthcoming press conference, marking another milestone in Mango’s flourishing career.

36 Men Found Living Irregularly In Malta During Inspections

Collaborative work between the Malta Police Force and Detention Services Officials which followed days of investigations resulted in the arrest of 36 persons on Saturday morning living irregularly in Malta. 

35 of the aforementioned were of Syrian nationality whereas one was of Gambian nationality. 

Inspections were focused in Ħamrun, Santa Venera and Imsida and form part of a series of inspections with the aim of ensuring that persons living in Malta have the valid documents and permits required. 

The persons are being held at the detention centre and will be held there until they are repatriated. 

The Police corps are continuing their inspections in the communities in similar efforts.
