Woman arrested for robbing money from a pet shop in Marsa

A 44-year-old woman from San Pawl il-Baħar was arrested on the 25th of January for robbing money from a pet shop in Marsa.

The pet shop owner reported to the police on the 25th that an amount of money was missing from his cash register. The police managed to identify the woman by means of CCTV cameras and she was arrested later that day.

The woman will be taken to court today at around 1 PM.

5 people arrested in Żejtun during drug raids; sniffer dog finds drugs in birdseed

5 people were arrested in Żejtun in connection with the trafficking of heroin and cocaine.

This first drug bust happened last Sunday when police officials stopped a 53-year-old man who had 3 bags of a substance which is suspected to be cocaine on his person. The police officials went on to search his home and found another 11 packets of drugs hidden in birdseed with the help of a sniffer dog.

The second arrest happened yesterday when the police arrested 4 men who had been surveilled for a number of days. A raid in one of their residence lead to the discovery of several drugs suspected to be cocaine and heroin ready to be trafficked as well as, money and items related to drug trafficking.
