The hat donning Roald Dahl character who ran a chocolate factory, Willy Wonka, will be getting a prequel to his story. The character will be portrayed by the talented Timothee Chalamet whose career is just skyrocketing. Having been interpreted by Gene Wilder in 1971 and Johnny Depp in 2005, Willy Wonka will be getting his story told through Paddington director Paul King.
Timothee Chalamet has previously starred in ‘Call Me by Your Name’ and is the recipient of several award nominations. He is also set to appear in an even bigger role in ‘Dune’, a film epic of ‘Lord of the Rings’ scale. More information is set to be released, as to who else will star in the film and whether or not Wonka’s origin will include his interaction with his dentist father who hated confectionaries.
