Will Smith considers running for president

Famous former ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ star Will Smith has opened up about the possibility of running for president in the future. Now 52-years-old, Smith has been a staple of Hollywood, appearing in many big roles, but now politics could be his next goal.

When asked, he said laughingly that he’ll give some time for the office to ‘get cleaned up a little’ and then he will consider running. He says he’s a very optimistic and opinionated person and strongly believes in creating understanding between people.

41-year-old COVID-19 victim dies at Mater Dei while Malta hits record-high cases again

Today’s COVID-19 daily update revealed that Malta has registered record-high case numbers once again with a whopping 336 new cases.

The report also showed 80 recoveries with 319 total deaths, of them a 41-year-old male who died at Mater Dei hospital along with a 61-year-old female at Mater Dei and another 78-year-old female who died in her private residence.

As Malta continues to register increasingly higher COVID-19 numbers and break concerning case records, the public awaits the health authorities’ way forward and questions of a potential lockdown still remain.

Malta has registered 336 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 3,572 swab tests, while 80 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

As of Monday 1st March 2021, 81,883 vaccine doses were administered of which 29,021 were 2nd doses.

To date, Malta has registered 22,993 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 19,743 have recovered, 319 died and 2,931 are still active.

High COVID-19 case numbers expected again today

Following the recent record-high COVID-19 case report on Sunday 28th February with 263 cases and another 175 overnight cases on 1st March, inside sources have suggested that today’s report could hit another high.

Malta has recently experienced a string of record-high case reports following the entry of virus variants in Malta and influx of illicit events and group gatherings during the carnival period.

Authorities have yet to report further measures or clarify whether or not they have amended their stance on a potential lockdown for Malta. It is therefore of utmost importance that the public adheres to the health authorities’ measures and protocol to mitigate the spread of the virus.
