Which is the safest seat to have on an airplane in case of a crash?

Apr 11 2023 Share

Air travel is considered one of the safest modes of transportation, but it is understandable to have concerns about safety when flying.

One common question that many people ask is which is the safest seat to have on an airplane in case of a crash.

While there is no definitive answer, there are some factors to consider that can help you make an informed decision.

Firstly, it’s important to understand that the chances of being involved in a plane crash are very low.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, the odds of dying in a plane crash are approximately one in 11 million. However, if a crash were to occur, there are some things to consider when choosing a seat.

Many experts believe that the seats located in the rear of the plane may be safer in the event of a crash. In particular, the seats located in the last few rows of the plane may offer a higher chance of survival. This is because these seats are located closer to the rear exits, which may be easier to access in an emergency.

Another factor to consider is the type of plane you are flying on. For example, in a smaller regional jet with only one aisle, the seats located at the front of the plane may be safer as they are closer to the exit. However, on a larger plane with multiple aisles, the seats located at the rear may offer a better chance of survival.

It’s also important to consider the type of impact that the plane may experience in a crash. In the event of a crash landing or a runway overrun, the seats located towards the front of the plane may offer a better chance of survival. However, in the event of a mid-air collision or a loss of control, the seats located towards the rear may be safer.

Ultimately, the most important factor in surviving a plane crash is to follow the safety instructions provided by the flight crew. This includes wearing your seatbelt at all times, keeping your seat in the upright position during takeoff and landing, and paying attention to the safety briefing before takeoff.

Passengers on a Ryanair flight experienced a terrifying moment

Apr 10 2023 Share

Passengers on a Ryanair flight from Liverpool to Dublin experienced a terrifying moment on Sunday afternoon as the aircraft’s nose wheel collapsed upon landing.

Video footage of the incident showed sparks flying from the front wheel of the plane as it came to a stop at Dublin Airport.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene as the airport’s fire service responded to the situation.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported among the passengers and crew onboard the aircraft.

Upon disembarkation, passengers were met by National Ambulance Service personnel and medics who treated one person for shock.

The south runway at Dublin Airport remained closed while the incident was being handled, causing air traffic operations to be restricted.

Ryanair issued a statement after the incident, claiming that the plane had only experienced “a minor technical issue” with its nose landing gear.

The airline confirmed that the passengers and crew had disembarked normally, and that the aircraft would be towed back to the hangar for further inspection by Ryanair engineers.

This year’s edition will take place on Sunday, April 16th, from 10 am to 5 pm, and is expected to attract both residents and tourists to the locality.

The event is organised by the Mġarr Local Council, which has been working tirelessly to ensure that the festival goes ahead as planned.

The festival is an important socio-cultural event that brings together the community and celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of the area.

The festival was started in 2007 as an experiment by the local council, who were keen to promote the Maltese agriculture industry and the strawberry fruit in particular.

During the festival, visitors can enjoy a variety of food stalls that sell different products made from strawberries, including jams, cakes, and drinks.

Professional chefs will also be on hand to cook up a storm using strawberries as the main ingredient. The event will also feature local artists, who will provide entertainment throughout the day.

For more information on the festival, including a schedule of events and a list of food and drink vendors, visit the official website of Festa Frawli https://festafrawli.com/.

Agreement signed between Government of Malta and LGBTI+ Gozo union

The Parliamentary Secretary for Reforms and Equality Rebecca Buttigieg announced that €30,000 have been allocated so that the LGBTI+ Gozo union hires a community worker with the aim of the LGBTIQ community in Gozo having a point of reference. She also stressed that strengthening equality in Gozo is a principle that the Government strongly believes in, and they are aware that there are still challenges that must be addressed.

The Government of Malta has signed a new social agreement with LGBTI+ Gozo union, aimed at strengthening the work in favour of equality in Gozo. The agreement was signed by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Reforms and Equality and the LGBTI+ Gozo union, which is the only non-governmental LGBTIQ+ organisation in Gozo.

Since its establishment eight years ago, the association has done valuable work to increase awareness and knowledge about the LGBTIQ community, and this investment from the Government will help ensure that the LGBTIQ community in Gozo receives the necessary services.

The agreement was signed in the presence of the Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri and the Parliamentary Secretary for Reforms and Equality Rebecca Buttigieg.

Catherine Camilleri, the coordinator of LGBTI+ Gozo, expressed gratitude for the Government’s continued support, which allows them to make a difference in the lives of LGBTI+ people in Gozo.  With this agreement, they will be able to invest more in their community and continue their efforts to further promote equality and inclusion.

The agreement is part of a chain of initiatives that will culminate next September as Malta hosts Europride.
