Cool down from the brutal summer heat in refreshing water!

Malta is known for unrelenting bouts of heat – and it seems as though the rest of the world is suffering from such brutal climate pains. So throw on your beach attire and dive head first into the nearest and coolest body of water you can find!

Fit in another great and natural workout in a new environment!

If you’re tired of your usual training routine – the packed gyms and the repetitive jogging route – then maybe swimming could give you the alternative you crave. Swimming is a great workout if you actively engage in it, so you’ll be happy to know that you’re far from out of options on an island such as Malta!

The D Factor: Absorb some crucial vitamin D for your body!

The value of Vitamin D has been repeated to us countless times, but in case you’ve forgotten, it can help everything from improving moods, brain function, aiding weight loss, boosting immunity and even maintaining strong bones. Of course, make sure you do all of this safely and check that you have adequate sun cream and avoid the worst hours of the sun’s rays.

Relieve stress: natural ambient wave sounds are a great de-stresser

Just chill, sit back and listen to the waves slowly brushing against the shore. Let the background sounds of people sharing experiences, gulls cawing, and the faint glistening of sun beams as light bends around the edges of your umbrella help you drift off into a well needed rest…

We can’t NOT mention the pristine Maltese beaches literally all around us!

Malta is an island (duh!) and that comes with some perks! One of the biggest benefits of living on a Mediterranean island is that you’re spoilt for choice at every corner as there’s a beach ready to welcome you at all four corners! Just take your pick and head down to whichever strikes you most!

Many commemorate 58 months since Daphne Caruana Galizia’s assassination
Aug 17 2022 Share

Many took to social media to commemorate 58 months since the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Among them was former Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil who stated that Galizia “was a hopeless romantic with a passion for beauty: that’s why she fought the ugliness of excessive construction, corruption and injustice”.

Busuttil wasn’t the only one who wrote in honour of the late journalist, whose murder and the ongoing investigations and trials surrounding it made international headlines.

Repubblika activist Robert Aquilina also took to social media, saying that he and those who have joined him in the past ‘know that we are fighting for a just cause.’

“Because we know this, we are determined to keep this fight going until the end.”

Addressing a public activity in memory of the assassination, Kristina Chetcuti said that the only way Malta will emerge out of the ‘destructive circle which it has entered in the last 10 years’ is if the island’s youth leave the country and return with fresh and new ideas.

She urged them not to protest alongside them but to instead pack their bags and leave the island. There, she urged them to work, experience, talk and live full lives so that they can bring a refreshment to the Maltese islands.
