This morning near Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, a waterspout was witnessed over the sea; film of the occurrence was shared to Malta Daily. This discovery is made as the island gets ready for a potential thunderstorm later today.
Temp Madwarna recently shared a photo by Matthias Cachia showing the first marine waterspout, or “trumpet,” appearing near San Ġiljan. They noted, “The first St. Julian’s waterspout is sighted,” adding that their page had predicted a 35% chance of waterspouts today. The same page later updated that today’s weather is expected to be quite cloudy with possible heavy isolated showers and thunderstorms or sleet.
