After months of dedicated work, the 2024 turtle nesting season has come to a successful close.

Yesterday, Nature Trust Malta (NTM) and the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) opened the final nest, Nest 7, which, due to natural factors, did not produce any hatchlings.

Despite this, the season was a remarkable success, setting new records for turtle conservation in Malta. A total of eight nests were confirmed, the highest number ever recorded, with 594 eggs and 406 hatchlings.

These achievements underscore the continued effectiveness of conservation efforts and provide strong optimism for future nesting seasons.
