During his recent appearance on Malta Daily’s ‘The Interview with Fabian Demicoli’, Jason Micallef stated that, despite calls for his participation, he will most certainly not contest any election any time soon.

The VCA Chairman revealed that the reasoning behind this is that he is his own person and cannot wear ‘a mask’ and visit people’s homes promising things that he does not believe in or aren’t his. Providing an example, Micallef stated that he is not in favour hunting and trapping and cannot contest and promise such things if he does not agree with them.

Do you agree?

Gozo’s heliport may be extended to an airport in the coming weeks

Gozo's heliport may be extended to an airport in the coming weeks
Jan 28 2022 Share

In a recent announcement by Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri, it was revealed that Gozo’s heliport will be extended to be able to handle an 11-passenger small fixed-wing aircraft. Further plans will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Camilleri stated that such a development is natural for the Gozo service due to the expansion of public transport such as the recent addition of the fourth ferry between Malta & Gozo and the new fast ferry service. The airport will cater to fixed-wing aircrafts with a minimum environmental impact and it will not commit to more land than is already committed to the heliport.

The Minister had revealed that flight operators had previously expressed an interest in investing on such a service, even alluding to the possibility of flight schools and drone testing.

Do you welcome such a development?

As the beta version of Apple’s iOS 15.4 rolls out, it is accompanied by a number of brand new features such as Face ID accessibility whilst wearing a mask.  But more importantly, Apple have introduced a new wave of emojis.

37 brand new pictographs have been added to Apple’s emoji library and include everything from a saluting face, heart hands, lip biting and gender-neutral pregnant emojis. Others include a playground slide, bubbles, disco ball, equals sign, melting face and index finger pointing at the viewer.

The beta version of iOS 15.4 can be downloaded by users forming part of Apple’s developer program. That said, pre-release versions such as this can include bugs and may impede the device’s performance. The official version of iOS 15.4 is expected to roll out sometime during Spring 2022.
