In Malta Daily’s latest episode of The Interview, former Prime Minister and newly-elected chairman of the Malta Premier League (MPL) Joseph Muscat addressed the state of his position as Malta Premier League chairman.

Muscat told host Fabian Demicoli that, rather than opting for the role himself, the former PM believes he was chosen. He went on to state that his exit from politics has allowed him the luxury to do certain things such as this.

Prior to his election as chairman, Muscat had promised himself that he would only work on things he enjoyed doing, and with football being a passion of his, the leadership role made sense.

During the interview, he also stated that the role is not a job or a profession, nor is it a paid gig, but is a contribution he feels that he can give, believing there is a wealth of opportunities.
