The car does seem to stop at one point, possibly to reverse the vehicle and drive in the correct direction. The identity of the driver is currently unknown but so far, no one seems to have gotten injured from the incident.

It was also unclear as to why the car was driving on the wrong lane towards incoming traffic, but many suspect that the driver was confused when entering the lane.

Glen Farrugia is not a registered member or contractor says MDA
Sep 29 2021 Share

Following the incident of a migrant worker being left on a Mellieha pavement after falling two storeys by his boss, the Malta Developers’ Association (MDA) revealed that Glen Farrugia, who was interviewed by police, is not a member and not a registered contractor. Mr Farrugia is a a director and one of the two shareholders of J&G Farrugia Contractors, and was approached by authorities in connection with the incident.

The MDA disassociated itself from the contractor, who was supposedly managing the construction site where the incident occurred. The worker, a 32-year-old from Ghana, was discovered and in pain on a Salmon pavement. He alleged that his boss promised him to take him to a hospital but instead left him on the pavement and left him there. MDA director-general Dr Deborah Schembri stated that she could confirm that the contractor of the site is not and never was a member of her association. He had also allegedly not registered as a contractor when an exercise was carried out to list the contractors operating on the island.
