Watch: Dog saves certain goal in Scottish game

In a recent video shared by Sky Sports, a dog saved a certain goal in a Scottish amateur game. The video went viral on Twitter as the original post uploaded by club Ferguslie Star A.F.C has now amassed over 1.1k likes and 301 retweets. A large feat for a Scottish amateur club.

 

This is not the first time a dog featured in a football game as many dogs have interrupted matches before. This is certainly the first time a dog affected a football game however. The opposing team did manage to score a goal as they smashed in home the rebound from the dog. So you can say that the dog either made a save or provided an assist.

Maltese generosity has been highlighted once again as in just a matter of hours from Puttinu’s first call for donations of PS4s, all rainbow wards were filled up with the consoles for kids to enjoy. As MaltaDaily, we are always on the lookout for good and heartwarming news, and we couldn’t turn a blind eye to yesterday’s event. Puttinu issued a post yesterday, thanking a kind benefactor for donating a Playstation 4 to the Rainbow Ward. It added how only 2 consoles were left to fully equip the rooms, and their call was answered in mere hours. 

The following day (today), Puttinu issued another post thanking all the people who jumped at the opportunity to fill up the rooms with more consoles. The NGO stated how thanks to the donators, not only were the rooms equipped with PS4s but so were the playrooms and the adolescent rooms. What a wonderful gesture by the Maltese, making so many children happy through such hard times.

An organisation concerned with Kazini (band clubs) has expressed disappointment at disproportionate action taken by authorities. Despite this enforcement being deployed to ensure activities are in line with COVID-19 regulations, the ‘Ghaqda Nazzjonali tal-Banda’ pointed out how authorities are over-regulating their activities whilst closing their eyes to others. Feast enthusiasts were angered by the heavy police presence in a Hal Safi village feast celebration but none whatsoever at Malta’s Entertainment Mecca, Paceville.

This continued with the organisation calling for the authorities to initiate discussions in order to allow village feasts to make a come back by next year. The NGO’s statement pointed out how feasts are an intangible and national heritage recognised by UNESCO. It also encouraged all those who wish to celebrate their village feast in adherence to health restrictions.

Hal Safi mayor Johan Mula also spoke out about the situation, stating that despite being raised to love discipline, he cannot stand for the fact that there were probably more police in Hal Safi than feast enthusiasts. This, compared to the large amounts of people in Paceville, is unacceptable. He doesn’t place the blame solely on the police due to orders from above, but instead appeals to the authorities to take decisions rationally and fairly. He insisted on not delivering the fatal blow to feasts which are Malta’s national heritage. Should village feasts as we know them make a comeback next year?

Cristiano Ronaldo completes Manchester United medical

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly, and successfully, completed his first Manchester United medical in Lisbon, Portugal. The medical was set up in Lisbon, as Ronaldo is currently with the Portuguese national team before their World Cup qualifiers against Ireland and Azerbaijan.

The Portuguese superstar will sign a two year contract up until June 2023. Many reports have stated that he will approximately receive £14-15 million per year. Romano also confirmed that his contract will include bonuses and clauses.

It is also said that Manchester United have already began the process of getting him a visa. Their main aim is that he will be able to report to training after the international break. The club are also planning on having their new superstar on the bench or starting in their next match against Newcastle United.
