Facebook forecaster The Weather Page Malta released a post last night warning about incoming weather, which is set to be very strong winds which could make swimming dangerous. The post recommended no swimming and no diving in areas ‘exposed to the Northwest wind from tomorrow Tuesday afternoon till Thursday morning.’
Wind gusts are set to reach up to Force 5-6, or even 7. The post listed several popular beaches often frequented by families and tourists to avoid. These included the likes of Paradise Bay, Ghajn Tuffieha, Sliema, Armier, Comino and Cirkewwa.
The page also highlighted how this note is ‘in no way issued and done to cause any alarm but intended to raise awareness to be more cautious and also to avoid what usually happens on windy days (especially in summer) when we take it for granted’. The Malta International Airport also emphasised the strong winds, particularly on Wednesday as temperatures fluctuate between 33 and 36 degrees Celsius.
