Voice Kids Malta winner Dawn releases 1st music video

Dawn Desira, the winner of The Voice Kids 2022, has released the official music video for her song ‘Once Upon A Time.’

‘With her outstanding stage presence, captivating vocals, and infectious personality, Dawn captivated audiences across the nation and secured her spot in the finals with a mesmerizing solo performance. She even had the privilege of performing a duet with her coach and mentor, the renowned artist Owen Leuellen.’

Dawn was crowned victor in January 2023, and has continued to work on her musical career to record and release her debut original song.

“I aspire to grow as an artist and make a name for myself locally”, said Dawn in a press statement.

“Eventually, when the time is right, I aim to explore larger opportunities abroad, most likely in California. But wherever the journey takes us, I’m determined to continue learning and evolving to elevate my music career and achieve my dreams.”

266,798 tourists visited Malta in April 2023

According to new information released by the National Statistics Office, April 2023 saw a total of 266,798 inbound tourists. This is an increase from 194,545 in the corresponding 2022 month.

A total of 1,615,564 nights were spent on the island by tourists, with total expenditure surpassing €200.1 million.

The largest share of guest nights, at 83.9%, was spent in rented accommodation establishments. NSO revealed that inbound tourists in the first four months of 2023 amounted to 709,860.

The total amount of nights spent across the 4 months was around 4.5 million. The total expenditure for the four month period was approximately €512.5 million.

‘The largest share of inbound tourists were aged between 25 and 44 (38.5 per cent), followed by the 45-64 age bracket (31.2 per cent). Italian, United Kingdom, and French residents made up 48.8 per cent of total inbound tourists.’

Temperatures to feel like 29°C this Friday

According to weather forecasts, the highest temperatures are set to feel like 29°C over the weekend, with the highest temperature being 27°C.

According to Facebook weather page ‘It-Temp Madwarna’, the lowest temperatures today are set to feel like 17°C.

The weather isn’t expected to be just sunny however, being partly cloudy for today and the rest of the weekend. The temperatures are set to stay in the 27 to 29°C limit for the rest of the weekend as well.

With a UV index of 9, it is high time to whip out that sunscreen to protect you from the potential sunburn if you’re on the way to the beach.

There is only a 45% chance of rain, but a very high rate of humidity at 80%, according to the aforementioned weather portal.

Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling Barbie dolls released

As if we had any doubt this would happen, toymaker Mattel has released official Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling Barbie dolls ahead of the release of the movie.

Margot Robbie, who plays the titular character (or rather, one of the many versions of the character), and Gosling, who plays one of the many Kens, were made into figures for fans of the brand to play with.

The film is set to drop on July 21st, and has been creating hype around it with various meme-worthy marketing schemes and genuinely good trailer features.

Aling with the collection, Mattel is also releasing a collection of products celebrating the live action with a replica three storey Dreamhouse. Fashion packs are also available, including outfits and even a Pink Corvette Convertible.
