Vin Diesel teases ‘Fast’ franchise finale with Paul Walker tribute

The passing of Paul Walker in 2013 was a massive loss for the world, most notably fans of the ‘Fast and the Furious’ fans all around the globe.

With Vin Diesel and Paul Walker once co-leading the franchise as Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner, the series is well-known for its highlighting of the familial bond.

And nothing captured it more than Diesel’s latest, and definitely not the first, tribute to Walker as the tenth instalment of the Fast franchise kicks off filming. The franchise will be going out with a bang as the tenth film will be the first part of the end, with the 11th film being shot back-to-back.

Vin Diesel teased earlier this month that filming on Fast 10 will be beginning soon, and he has now shared that the cast and crew will be taking their stunts to London, England. Diesel shared a throwback of him, Walker and Tyrese Gibson to Instagram, revealing the location in the caption.

The snapshot takes fans back ages ago, when the entire cast could walk down movie premiers together as the franchise was still creating the hype it is known for today. At the end of Furious 7, Walker’s character retired from heists to raise his kids with Mia Toretto.

It is unclear whether Brian O’Conner will make any sort of cameo through body doubles and/or technological means. But even if that isn’t the case, the franchise’s cast, and mostly Diesel himself, will make sure he is never forgotten.

The tenth movie could be set for release on 7th April 2023, but it all depends on the pandemic. The Rock is not going to appear in the finale, but many of the familiar faces will be hitching a ride to end the saga.

Good Friday Walk in Aid of Puttinu 2022 makes comeback

Announcing the great news on social media, the Good Friday Walk 2022 (Mixja Gimgħa l-Kbira 2022) in aid of Puttinu Cares will be coming back.

‘After two years since the pandemic hit the world, we are finally back and getting ready for the next edition of the Good Friday Night Walk in aid of Puttinu’ the statement said.

This year’s walk will be taking on a different format, the post revealed. There will be two starting points, with one kicking off from the Mellieħa Parish Square and the other from Mosta’s Parish Square.

The final destination for both walks will be the Qawra National Aquarium, starting at midnight in the early hours of the religious holiday of Good Friday – the 15th of April. A donation of €10 will be kindly asked for as was done in previous years.

PN promises feasts to be celebrated in full fledge if elected

Addressing a political rally, the Nationalist Party pledged that if elected to government, Maltese feasts (locally known as festi) will be celebrated in full.

Speaking during the rally, Opposition Leader Bernard Grech said that fans of the Maltese cultural phenomenon would be allowed to return to their celebrations if the PN is voted into parliament.

Following 2 years of a pandemic, the feast community in Malta continuously expressed their distraught and concerns that their beloved practice, which takes up days of work, was being ignored by authorities.

Grech promised to give back the feast enthusiasts the right to celebrate them in full as they did prior to COVID-19’s arrival on the global stage and Malta. What do you think?

PL pledges 15% increase in stipends and youth in politics

Speaking at a political rally, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that if elected to government, the Labour Party would increase stipends by up to 15%.

Asked about the previous increase in stipend brought on by his administration, Abela promised that the stipend would continue going up if the party is reelected in March.

Abela also highlighted the importance of discussing the prospect of having youth being able to run as candidates in general elections. Abela said that, apart from giving 16 to 18 year olds the right to vote, they should also be able to participate in the political sphere.

Abela went on to call the youth not just the leaders of Malta’s future, but also the leaders of today.
