Sep 21 2024 Share

A video posted by reigning shield champions Birgu Regatta Club, shows the behind the scenes of their gruelling regatta championship race, a few days ago.

The video shows the tough challenges, mentally and physically, that the rowers need to accomplish in order to write their names into history and win the shield for their town.

Birgu managed to beat out neighboring towns, Senglea and Cospicua (Birgu) as well as Marsamxett.

Writing about the one of a kind video, Birgu Regatta Club had this to say; “Many think that rowers only row, but this video will show what goes on inside the boat during the race. This is the original sound from the last race, where you’ll hear the crew talking and the sound of Opra z-Zu with every stroke.”
