Video emerged online of motorcycle hit and run in Balbi Street, Marsa

Yesterday evening someone witnessed a hit and run by a motorcycle at Balbi Street, Marsa, during which the motorcycle hit a parked car.

A video has now emerged online asking people to share any information they might have.

The video captures the motorcycle clearly hitting a parked car, the driver getting back up slowly and leaving the scene.

A number of immigrants enter through Birżebbuġa during the night

Around 5:30 AM during the night, 55 male immigrants arrived in Malta via Birżebbuġa.

The immigrants entered the port alone and were not escorted by any military or police officials.

Once the police arrived at the scene they took the immigrants in order to complete their investigations.

United Airlines flight bound for Honolulu experiences an engine failure

A United Airlines flight that was bound for Honolulu experienced engine failure. Videos and photos of the experience were shared online.

The flight had to return to Denver International Airport soon after it took-off. No one was injured during the incident.

The aircraft was the third oldest Boeing 777-200 in the country and a similar accident took place in 2018.

Indian millionaire buys Dwejra Quarry with plans for redevelopment

On Friday evening, investigative news platform The Shift reported that an Indian Tycoon bought a 30,000 square-metre Dwejra quarry, double the size of a football ground, with plans for development.

The quarry, part of which is a protected Natura 2000 site, was purchase by Indian multi-millionaire Vijay Kumar Berlia, an entrepreneur dealing in chemicals, real estate and other avenues who plans to conduct ‘horizontal and vertical extensions to the quarry.

The application is still in its screening process, despite being shut down by the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA), deemed ‘unacceptable’.
