Very Hot Weekend Ahead: To Feel Like 38°C

According to the weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, the Maltese islands are set to suffer a bout of heat for the entire weekend going into next week.

As July comes to an end and August edges closer, the temperatures ahead of this month’s end are set to feel like a sizzling 38°C.

Temperatures are set to climb to a high of 33°C by Sunday 28th July, despite it feeling like 36°C, according to the Malta International Office forecast.

And while this is perfect weather for a day at the beach, it would bode well for everyone to mind the health recommendations issued to avoid heat related impacts such as heat strokes.

Make sure to keep plenty of water handy, to stay out of the sun during its peak hours, not leave anyone in closed cars for prolonged periods of time, etc.

Jennifer Aniston Criticises Trump VP Pick For Criticising ‘Childless’ Women

Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston has criticized Donald Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, for comments he made in 2021, describing Democrats as a “bunch of childless cat ladies with miserable lives.”

Aniston’s struggles to have children have been well-documented throughout her career. The former Friends actress shared the interview on her Instagram stories, accompanied by a strongly worded message:

“I truly can’t believe that this is coming from a potential VP of the United States,” she wrote. “All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day.”

“I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option,” Aniston continued. “Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.”

JD Vance has a history of being critical of IVF and alternative methods of having children. He voted against Democrat-backed legislation that would have guaranteed nationwide access to IVF.

In the same clip, Vance also criticized Vice President and potential Presidential candidate Kamala Harris for not having any biological children, claiming she had no “direct stake” in the country. Although Harris has no biological children, she is the stepmother to her husband Doug Emhoff’s two children and even officiated her stepson Cole’s wedding.

Activists Glue Themselves to Tarmac at Frankfurt Airport

Climate activists holding signs saying “ÖL TÖTET,” which translates to “oil kills,” glued themselves to the tarmac at Frankfurt Airport early this morning.

Eight members of the climate activist group “Letzte Generation” attempted to use pincers to cut through the wire fences; seven successfully made their way onto the runway, while the eighth was detained before he managed to do so. Those who succeeded attached themselves to the tarmac using a mixture of glue and sand. Later on, the remaining seven were also arrested.

The activist group is advocating for a binding international agreement to end the use of fossil fuels by 2030.

After a temporary suspension of flights, all operations resumed at 7:50 AM. Frankfurt Airport advises passengers to check their flight status on the airline’s website throughout the day, as further delays and cancellations may be expected.
