VERY HOT: Local weather page issues heat warning as summer reaches peak

If you’re not handling the heat, a stressful week lies ahead as local weather page ‘Malta Weather’ has issued a VERY HOT weather warning at the beginning of this week. The page’s post stated that the summer season is expected to reach its peak across Malta and Gozo with temperature highs of 37°C.

Despite the concerning temperatures, the weather page has stated that no heatwave is anticipated, with a 75% confidence in forecast. Another local weather page, ‘It-Temp Madwarna’, has corroborated such claims, with forecasted temperature highs of 35°C which feel like 39°C and a UV index of 10.

The local meteorological office forecast sustains such forecast, with a week-long ‘hot & sunny forecast’ with reported highs of 37°C which feel like 38°C on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Haley Bugeja recieves warm welcome in Orlando ahead of summer move

American women’s football team Orlando Pride has announced the signing of Maltese star Haley Bugeja. The young attacker will join on a one and a half year deal and will wear the iconic no.7 shirt, the dream shirt number for most aspiring young wingers.

She spent the last two years dazzling football fans around Europe with her amazing performances for Italian Serie A side Sassuolo. In 30 appearances for Neroverdi she managed to score an impressive 15 goals and was also subject to a rumours around a possible move to Italian super team Juventus.

She will be able to make her debut this month as unlike in Europe, football leagues in the USA continue on in the summer and take a break in the months off November and December. Orlando Pride currently find themselves in 8th place out of 12 teams. They currently only have 3 wins in the 12 games that they have played.

Haley will hope to turn the Pride’s season around with the help of Brazilian football legend Marta, who is often regarded as the greatest female footballer of all time.

In a dangerously risky attempt to get a better view of the Coast Road, footage sent to Malta Daily shows a passenger casually drinking some form of beverage whilst sitting atop the roof of a car.

With his drink in one hand and the phone in another while the driver navigates the lengths of Malta’s Coast Road, the potential hazards and threats resulting from such a decision are endless.

The video, sent in by @fixmalta, is a prime example of what one should not do in Malta’s roads as it can result in putting multiple lives in danger in the already jam-packed streets of Malta.

Fans calling for Ryan Gosling to be next James Bond

Several fans of Ryan Gosling and the new Netflix action film The Gray Man, have been calling for the film’s protagonist to be the next James Bond. For the first time in years, the role of James Bond is currently vacant after Daniel Craig’s contract expired after the 2021 film No Time to Die.

As of right now British actors Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill and even Harry Styles have all been rumoured to play the iconic secret agent. However after watching what Ryan Gosling can do in the new action film, many fans are asking for this casting to happen and usher in a new era of James Bond.

One fan on Twitter wrote “I’m all for Tom Hardy being the new James Bond. But after watching The Gray Man on Netflix. Ryan Gosling would be perfect for the role.”

In an interview with Sky News, Gosling admitted that he was aware of the comparisons saying “I think you can’t kind of step into it without those comparisons and we even acknowledge it in the movie.”

“I mean there’s one point where he says [the alias] 007 was taken – I like the idea that this movie existed in a world that was aware that there were Bond movies and this was a different take on it, a less glamorized version of it.”

He however denied the notion that there has been contact for him to play Bond, even joking around with the speculation saying “I’m not sure that they want a Canadian in that role,”
