The third edition of Caritas Run For Life 2025 took place yesterday, Sunday, March 2, at Caritas Malta San Blas.

The centre, which usually welcomes individuals seeking rehabilitation services, opened its doors to a record-breaking crowd.

From early morning, participants gathered outside the Therapeutic Rehabilitation Center, eager to take part in what has now become an annual event in Caritas Malta’s calendar.

This year’s run saw an impressive turnout of over 1,300 participants, competing across various categories. Many chose to run 5km or 10km, others walked 4km or 5km, while children participated in races of 1km and 2.5km.

Winners were celebrated across different age groups, with The Club securing first place for club participation, followed by Obstacle Course Academy and Aloysians Athletics Club. Convenience Shops was also recognised for encouraging the highest number of employees to join.

Registrations had to close five days before the event after reaching maximum capacity.

The run was made possible through the support of sponsors, volunteers, and organisations like Sport Malta, St Patrick’s Athletic Club, and Convenience Shops. Thanks also went to St John Ambulance and Rescue Malta, LESA, the Malta Police Force, and Transport Malta, which facilitated logistics.

The event promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, raises funds for Caritas Malta’s free services, and highlights the work of San Blas and other Caritas communities.

Among the notable participants were Prime Minister Robert Abela, who completed the 10km run, and Former President George Abela, who took part in the 5km walk.
