Valletta FC were officially crowned BOV Challenge League Champions, securing an immediate return to the Premier League after just one season in the second tier.

The historic club, one of the most decorated in Maltese football, suffered relegation last season for the first time in their 120-year history.

However, they responded in emphatic fashion, sealing promotion with four matches to spare and finishing the season on a high note with a convincing 3-0 win over Marsa.

Their triumph was celebrated in style at the National Stadium in Ta’ Qali, where the BOV Challenge League trophy was presented by Ernest Agius, Chief Operations Officer at Bank of Valletta, and Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo.

Thousands of loyal Valletta supporters were in attendance, turning the occasion into a true celebration of the club’s swift return to top-flight football.

The massive celebrations continued after the match in the capital, with the Valletta streets being filled with thousands of fans.

Valletta Fc Supporters Flocks To Ta’ Qali For Celebrations

As part of their celebrations, Valleta FC organised a Pre-match meet up, which took place at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium.

Followed by the match against Marsa FC which started at 15:30.

After the final whistle, Valletta will be officially presented with the BOV Challenge League Trophy.

The celebrations will then move to Republic Street in Valletta from 19:00, where supporters will continue the party in true Valletta FC style.

Club President Claudio Grech shared his excitement, saying: “As expected, emotions are running high as the Club prepares for what promises to be one of the most memorable days in our history. Saturday marks the end of a season filled with both triumphs and challenges that tested everyone involved. But those very challenges made us stronger—and Saturday will prove just that.”

Valletta’s promotion marks a dramatic comeback after suffering relegation for the first time in their 120-year history. This season, the capital club bounced back with grit and style, sealing the title with games to spare.

Despite decades of fierce competition, Ħamrun Spartans took to social media to extend their respect:

‘Zielfahnder V’ To Be Filmed In Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, St Julians, And The Birgu Waterfront

Malta has been chosen as the filming location for ‘Zielfahnder V’, a German-produced 90-minute television series. This latest international production continues to strengthen Malta’s position as a preferred destination for filmmakers around Europe.

The production, which is benefiting from the Malta Film Commission’s competitive 40% Cash Rebate programme, will be filming across six locations, including Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, St Julians, and the Birgu Waterfront.

On Thursday night, Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech and Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici visited one of the set, commending the crew’s work and the international collaboration.
