The National Policy for the Deployment of Offshore Renewable Energy is now open for public consultation, inviting citizens and stakeholders to join the discourse that promises to propel Malta into a new era of energy innovation.

At the heart of this ambitious initiative is the recognition of Malta’s untapped potential lying beyond its territorial waters and within its Exclusive Economic Zone. Energy Minister Miriam Dalli, emphasised that the policy’s technology-neutral approach paves the way for the implementation of offshore renewable projects, with a primary focus on wind and solar energy. This approach harmonises the country’s energy vision with the global transition towards sustainable energy sources.

The Offshore Renewable Energy Policy harnesses the immense potential of this vast expanse, offering the promise of affordable and clean energy that transcends conventional boundaries. Beyond its environmental benefits, the policy also presents a golden opportunity for sustainable economic growth.

The policy’s comprehensive framework aligns itself with Malta’s overarching goals: promoting renewable energy investments, guiding potential investors towards effective technologies, encouraging research and development, and safeguarding energy security.

People with Down Syndrome Run a Cafe with Dignity and Purpose

In a heartwarming event that radiated the spirit of inclusion and empowerment, individuals with Down Syndrome took center stage in a cafe for a day, showcasing their abilities, talents, and zest for life. Organised by the Maltese Down Syndrome Association, this initiative allowed these remarkable individuals to not only integrate further into society but also demonstrate their skills to the public. The event, which received widespread acclaim, aims to become a recurring monthly celebration of inclusivity.

On the day of the event, prominent figures including Prime Minister Robert Abela, Member of the European Parliament Cyrus Engerer, and Members of Parliament Randolph De Battista and Graziella Galea graced the occasion with their presence.

The event took place in the renovated offices of the Maltese Association of Down Syndrome, a project made possible through government investment in collaboration with the Ministry for Inclusion, Voluntary and Consumer Rights.

The Messi mania extends far beyond the pitch. Apple’s football streaming package subscriptions have surged since Messi’s arrival in July, showcasing his global appeal. Adidas, the sportswear giant, has witnessed an overwhelming demand for Messi’s jerseys, leading to an order backlog that stretches into October. The phenomenon has transcended borders, making Messi’s presence a game-changer not only for MLS but also for the world of sports.

Soccer.com revealed that the top eight best-selling jerseys on their platform are Messi-related, including his iconic Argentina kit and the Inter Miami shirt. The Inter Miami jersey has become the top-selling MLS club kit across nearly all US states. The Messi effect has turned the spotlight on jerseys, uniting fans from coast to coast in their admiration for the football legend.
