The Ministry for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects has launched the “Unreal Engine Education Pathways” project. The initiative, unveiled by Minister Silvio Schembri, aims to equip young people with skills in game development through training in Unreal Engine, the game engine developed by international tech company Epic Games.

“This is part of our vision to position Malta as a leader in the digital and creative sectors,” said Minister Schembri during the launch.

The training programme is being rolled out in collaboration with Epic Games—the creators of the massively popular game Fortnite—and will be led by the Interactive Media Academy, as part of Gaming Malta’s broader strategic efforts.

Ivan Filletti, CEO of Gaming Malta, stated: “Education and the development of new economic sectors go hand in hand. This is the only way we can prepare future generations to be part of the rapidly growing digital economy.”

Second Chance Horse Rescue has released a number of updates on Nova, the horse they recently received into their care who was mistreated for a long while.

Named Nova, a nod to her being a star and everything she’s managed to survive, the NGO revealed that she is being let out into the sun for some time and being given the love she deserves.

Unfortunately, her vet check up confirmed that her front leg injury went untreated for years and, as a result, her bones in her front leg have formed into one.

‘Although we are sure we won’t pretty much receive any other news because it is now too late to fix her, we have decided alongside with our vet today that we will see how she does in the next couple of days and see from there’, explained the NGO.

‘The least thing we want is for her to struggle and suffer but we are doing everything in our power to keep her as comfortable as possible.’

Meanwhile, the fundraiser opened for her treatment has reached €245 so far, with the NGO urging people to spare some more money to help care for this absolute star.

Malta’s Damian Buhagiar has been cast in the upcoming production of ‘Evita’, directed by Jamie Lloyd and staring Rachel Ziegler from ‘Snow White’. It is set to run for a limited time at the London Palladium.

Evita tells the story of Eva Perón’s rise to power, featuring timeless songs like “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina”.

Known for his recent role as Pablo in ‘Sister Act’ at the Dominion Theatre and his appearance in the ‘Gavin and Stacey’ finale, Buhagiar adds his vocal talent and stage presence to a star-studded cast led by Rachel Zegler as Eva Perón.

Following Lloyd’s acclaimed revival of ‘Sunset Boulevard’, this bold new take on Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s iconic musical promises to deliver emotional power and visual flair.

With limited performances and high anticipation, Evita is set to be one of the must-see theatre events of the year.
