Unaccompanied Donkeys Spotted In Nadur, Gozo

A video sent to this newsroom shows what seems to be a pair of donkeys walking unaccompanied in the streets of Nadur, Gozo.

The footage, filmed by a person in a vehicle which slowed down at the sight of the animals, shows the two donkeys casually strolling at night in the Gozitan town. 

It is unclear to whom the donkeys belonged to and whether they were retrieved following the video being filmed.

On a special episode dedicated to Maltese national records, young Kelly Cassar Agius showed off her ability to solve a Rubik’s Cube with one hand in under 2 minutes. 

The Malta Records’ jury, Sir Jeffrey Saliba and Sir Antonio Montebello, were present live on the programme to certify that the records took place.

The locally renowned TV show Brillanti is set to return with a new spin: Musicals!

After two successful seasons of discovering local talent in music and dance, Joseph Chetcuti will be once again venturing to uncover more island on our islands. 

And joining him are three experts in the field!

Marco Stabile is an Italian artist well-known in the theatrical, television, and film scenes. He is widely recognized for his work with prominent figures such as Claudio Baglioni and Renato Zero, and he has participated in various Italian cinema productions. 

Stabile has been a protagonist in over 20 different musicals, including Kinky Boots and Jersey Boys, both in Italy and France. Currently, he is on a tour across Italy, playing the character of Jonathan Harker in the musical Dracula.

Marina Maniglio, an Italian marvel, has gained significant fame in Germany. With over 15 years of experience in musicals, she has an impressive repertoire, featuring outstanding performances in productions like Beauty and the Beast, Sister Act, Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Mamma Mia, The Bodyguard, and We Will Rock You. Currently, she takes on the lead role of Satin in the musical Moulin Rouge, a production that won 10 Grammy Awards.

Charles Brunton, the Chairperson of the Jury, is a renowned name in London’s West End and on Broadway in America. Having debuted in the musical Nine at the Royal Albert Hall, he was part of the original cast of Oliver, Rocky Horror Show, Disney’s musicals, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies. 

Notably, he played the lead role of Miss Trunchbull in the musical Matilda, first in the West End and later on Broadway, earning international acclaim. Additionally, Brunton has been involved in three international tours and played the part of Mark in the Hollywood film A Call to Spy, showcasing his versatility as a globally recognized artist.

Brillanti will be returning to your screens every Thursday at 20:30 on January 11th!

Manchester United Women Make Their Way To Malta

The Manchester United Women’s team have made their way to Malta for a winter training cap as the 2023/24 campaign is set to resume. 

The squad, headed by Marc Skinner, are officially back after a three week break over the holidays. 

The players will be training at the Ta’ Qali ground as well as engaging in a friendly match against PSV Eindhoven on the 5th of January at the Tony Bezzina Stadium. 

The team shared photos on social media showing the team boarding the plane as they make their way to the island.
