UM Lecturer Takes Students Out for Coffee on First Day

A group of law students at the University of Malta had quite an interesting start to their year after a lecturer took them all out for coffee on their first day of lectures.

Nationalist Party MP and law student Eve Borg Bonello took to Instagram to applaud the lecturer and share the situation.

“A different kind of morning at university”, she wrote, going on to explain that upon sitting for their first lecturer, the lecturer started off by asking the students to close their laptops and, after a brief introduction, they would be taken to the canteen for coffee and a brief introduction about themselves.

“The kind fo moments you’ll remember”, she concluded – a sentiment probably shared by the entire group of students.

Kudos to the lecturer for their approach on the first day!

No Signs of Aliens in The Universe Yet, Elon Musk Says

With all the news surrounding the topic of aliens in recent months, you would think humanity would be approaching the revelation of extraterrestrial life but according to Elon Musk, he has found no signs of aliens on Earth.

During the 74th International Astronautical Congress, the SpaceX founder and boss of X, formerly known as Twitter, told Business Insider that while people often ask him if he’s seen any evidence of aliens, he has not, going on to joke that “We are the aliens.”

On a recent episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight, the Tesla CEO told the former Fox News presenter that any individual discovering an alien would hit the figurative ‘jackpot’, going on to state that it would cause an immediate increase in the US defence budget.

Earlier this year, a self-proclaimed ‘UFO Expert’ had presented 1,000-year-old ‘alien fossils’ to Mexican Congress, sending news agencies around the world into a frenzy.

Despite critics and professionals discrediting the existence of extraterrestrial life since the presentation, recent studies have revealed that no assembly or manipulation was made on the skeletons.

Notte Bianca 2023 Logistical Details Announced

With just two days away from Notte Bianca, Festivals Malta have outlined this year’s logistical measures for the event. Notte Bianca taking place on 7th October, will include over 60 multidisciplinary performances by local and international artists across various areas of Valletta.

Festivals Malta have organised each performance in a particular route, so that audiences can find the events which interest them with ease, coupled by an interactive map on the Festivals Malta website to further facilitate planning on the night. Furthermore, Notte Bianca is collaborating with Inkontru.app, which details all performances, transport options as well as other crucial details about the event.

In order to mitigate traffic congestion during the event, the general public is highly recommend to make use of public transportation which will operate an extended service. The ferry service from Sliema and The Three Cities to and from Valletta will also be operating with extended hours until 2am.

Those who still want to travel with their personal vehicle should take note that access to Valletta will not be possible after 4pm on Saturday 7th October, and access by car will only be available through the ringroad. Residents will be granted access to Valletta upon presentation of their residency card. Transport Malta officials will be available on site for traffic management.

Couple in Viral ‘Feliċ’ Video Did Not Know Each Other Before Night of Video

A recent Times of Malta article has revealed that the couple in the viral ‘Feliċ’ video did not know each other prior to the filming of the video.

During a recent court sitting, an inspector highlighted that the man in question told the police that he did not know the woman’s name “but she had been touching and teasing him during a group event” and thus, he went along “so that others could have fun.”

It was also stated that the man did not know the video would end up going viral, only realising the severity of its nature when people had started to ask him what he had done.

The man accused of filming and sharing the video without consent, 35-year-old Mark Cachia Zammit, is pleading not guilty, with his lawyers arguing a lack of criminal intent.

On Thursday, police inspector Kurt Farrugia told courts that the man in the video had been invited for a meal at the Luqa Boċċi Club by his friend, described as “Mark il-Ginġer”, with the latter even paying for his meal and collecting €10 each.

The man expressed that his only concern was his family.
