A cat named Nanny McPhee in the U.K. gained attention for what was initially thought to be an unusually large nose.

However, it was later discovered that the cat actually has two noses, making her a unique feline.

Nanny McPhee, described as a gentle and affectionate four-year-old, was brought to the Cats Protection Warrington Adoption Centre due to her previous owners’ health and financial challenges. Despite her rare congenital abnormality, it does not pose any problems for her.

According to senior field veterinary officer Fiona Brockbank, this double-nose condition is a first for their team. While such congenital malformations are not uncommon in cats, Nanny McPhee’s case is particularly rare.

The cat was named after a fictional character known for a famously deformed nose.

Manager Lindsay Kerr expressed affection for Nanny McPhee, highlighting her gentle nature and love for attention. They hope her newfound fame will lead to her finding a loving forever home where she can be the centre of a caring family.

As of the latest update, Nanny McPhee is listed as “reserved” on the adoption centre’s website, indicating that she may soon join her new owners.

CONTENT WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGERY

‘At the moment, it’s still dark when some of us leave for work. It’s also started getting dark earlier’, wrote Wildlife Rescue Team Malta.

‘This means that in the morning, some hedgehogs may still be out and about when we leave for work, same for when some of us return from work.’

‘Please take a few seconds to check that there are no hedgehogs under your car or near your tyres. It only takes a few seconds, but it could spare that hedgehog.’

‘Unfortunately this month, we had a number of calls for hedgehogs that were just resting under cars unnoticed. Unfortunately in these cases, although we still do our best, it’s near impossible to save them.’

The animals rescued by Wildlife Rescue Team Malta are protected species in Malta and cannot be kept as pets.

Sir Bobby Charlton, the revered figure of Manchester United and English football, has passed away at 86, as announced by his family. Charlton’s legacy is monumental, marked by 249 goals in 758 appearances for Manchester United from 1956 to 1973, including a European Cup triumph in 1968 and three First Division titles. He held England’s goal-scoring record (49 goals in 106 caps) from 1970 to 2015.

In 2020, Charlton was diagnosed with dementia, prompting his withdrawal from matches at Old Trafford. His European Cup victory came a decade after surviving the 1958 Munich air disaster, which claimed the lives of eight teammates. He notably played in the World Cup final with his late brother Jack.

Manchester United hailed Charlton as “one of the greatest and most beloved players in the club’s history.” He played 758 games, scored 249 goals, and secured numerous titles during his 17-year tenure. Post-retirement, he served the club as a director for 39 years. Knighted in 1994, his contributions to football are celebrated globally.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino lauded Charlton’s enduring impact on the game, while Gary Lineker hailed him as “England’s greatest ever player.” Sir Bobby Charlton leaves an indelible mark on football, and his legacy will endure through the work of the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation.
