Two Maltese citizens are reported to have developed blood clots after having received a vaccine jab, but the health authorities have stated that there is no credible link between the two.

During today’s COVID-19 media briefing, Professor Charmaine Gauci stated that neither of the cases has been confirmed to be linked with the vaccine, with one case occurring after receiving a Pfizer vaccine and the other developing after receiving an AstraZeneca vaccine.

Professor Gauci stated that the country will stand by the recommendations of the European Medicines Agency, despite many countries cancelling inoculation via the AstraZeneca vaccine.
