Transport Officials Intervened In 60 Accidents Last Week

Last week, Transport Malta officials intervened in 60 road accidents, with 7 of the accidents involving injuries.

The medium clearance time of the accidents was 20 minutes.

Monday 3rd March registered the highest amount of incidents at 17, with a response time of 14 minutes.

Transport Malta encourage drivers to be vigilant whilst commuting to avoid any injuries and accidents that may result.

Earlier his week, the Malta Ranger Unit handed over a Scops Owl over to a government vet after it was found very unwell.

The rangers were alerted to the injured bird by a member of the public, and acted swiftly to rescue the owl.

The owl is set to undergo rehabilitation with BirdLife Malta. An x-ray showed that there were no shotgun injuries.

‘We wish to thank the person who found the owl and the several NGOs that assisted us on this case’, wrote Malta Ranger Unit.

To reach this goal, contestants must impress the expert panel of Sarah Harrison, Verdiana, and the lively Nate Morrison, who are on the lookout for true brilliance.

Will Martina Borg leave the judges in awe with her unique voice? Will Josephine Marie Grima uphold the Gozitan spirit and make it to the semi-finals? Will young Natalia Xerri overcome her nerves and shine on the prestigious Brillanti stage?

How will Jade Schembri’s confidence impress the judges? And what a cappella duet will Emanuel Matrullo, an Italian resident in Malta, perform with Verdiana?

The talented children of the La Voix Harmonie choir will also take the stage. Brian will surely leave everyone speechless with his charisma, courage, and charm, proving that music is for everyone.

Maltese Racer Wins Fully Funded Season In Mini Challenge UK

Nicky Gauci has been named the winner of the Jamsport Racing Scholarship, earning a fully funded drive in the 2025 Mini Challenge.

The Mini Challenge is one of the most competitive one-make racing series in the UK, providing a platform for drivers to develop and progress in motorsport.

The scholarship selection process was highly demanding, consisting of three stages, 50 participants, and eliminations at every round.

Competitors were tested across various disciplines, including fitness, media skills, data analysis, simulation, interviews, and in-car performance.

Nicky delivered in every aspect, securing the top spot in a fiercely contested competition.

Nicky expressed gratitude to Jamsport Racing, its sponsors, and World Pro Racing for their support, highlighting the crucial role of simulator equipment in preparation.

Appreciation was also extended to family, friends, and fellow competitors.

With the scholarship secured, attention now turns to the 2025 Mini Challenge season, where Nicky will compete as an official Jamsport Racing driver.
