A brand new public parking space has been inaugurated in Mellieħa after a €1,300,000 investment with aims of increasing the bay’s accessibility for both locals and tourists ahead of the summer season.

The project was taken care of by Project Plus, who also installed around 1,000 trees and shrubs along the area.

Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo stated that accessible zones such as Għadira should be freely available for everyone and contribute to a positive touristic experience, which is why facilities such as the car park are provided by the government.

A video of a Maltese youth standing up for a bus driver with a screaming woman is making the rounds on social media after the young man put on a showcase of chivalry.

The bus driver was reportedly being harassed by an older woman who was screaming at him after being denied passage on the bus for not paying the ticket.

After standing up for the bus driver, the young man gave the screaming woman his two cents about the situation up until she got overly-frustrated and left the bus.

Keith Schembri & others to spend weekend in prison ahead of bail hearing

Former Chief of Staff for the Office of the Prime Minister Keith Schembri is set to spend the weekend at Corradino Correctional Facility after his bail request was denied and scheduled for 29th March.

Schembri, along with others, was arrested and charged on Saturday 20th March and denied bail due to potential tampering of evidence or fears of fleeing the country.

Today’s court appearance for a compilation of evidence revealed a deep entanglement of offshore accounts for alleged profit off passport kickbacks and purchasing of printing equipment for Allied Newspapers.

Today’s appearance also revealed that Schembri had set up a Pilatus Bank account only weeks before the passport kickbacks scheme.

Longer days ahead with clocks to go forward on Sunday

You know summer is coming when that faithful day arrives and clocks are scheduled to go forward and that day is Sunday.

On Sunday 28th March, clocks must go forward at 2:00am on the dot which will give us another hour of daylight, signalling the impending arrival of the summer season.

While the weather has yet to evolve into its summer state, with temperatures remaining at a steady level until the anticipated increase in a few weeks time.
