The day of the Budget 2022 unveiling is here, and Prime Minister Robert Abela is building up anticipation by stating that this will be a realistic budget which focuses on what we want for our children. Tweeting out, Abela said that the theme of the budget will focus on the upcoming generation – what we want their future to look like and how we can arrive there. ‘Our vision [is] to build a more dynamic, sustainable and fairer Malta.’

He revealed that the vision is based on the ‘feedback of an unprecedented consultation process which has revealed what nation we aspire to leave as a legacy to our children.’ Also speaking on a One Radio interview yesterday, Abela emphasised that it will be one of the most consulted budgets of all time. Apart from revealing the budget’s continued focus on the welfare of elderly, opportunity maximisation and more education, the PM criticised the Nationalist Party for its lack of unity. He said that the country cannot trust a party which isn’t united. The budget will be presented today, 11th October, at 18:30.
