Times of Malta editor Herman Grech took to social media to respond to accusations made by Prime Minister Robert Abela that he was colluding with the Opposition’s strategist Christian Peregin.
Prime Minister Robert Abela told journalist Jacob Borg that he would not be answering any questions on a property deal involving suspected criminal Christian Borg because Grech was ‘caught colluding with Peregin at Costa Coffee.’
Grech confirmed that he met Christian for a coffee, but he said that he’d like to inform the prime minister that he also informally met with two ministers of his in the last few days as well as a Labour Party strategist at the same cafe some months ago.
‘Because this is what journalist and editors in the democratic world do – keep the channels of communication open. They speak to people from political parties and from all walks of life. That’s the way they can seriously have a pulse on what’s happening. It’s actually part of the job description’ said Grech.
This follows accusations made by Opposition Leader Bernard Grech on the 14th of February that PL media sent a drone to film him and his house.
