TikTok to release orchestral collection of trending hits

Since its inception, media platform TikTok has contributed to the growth of a considerable number of viral hits and now, these same hits will be getting the orchestral treatment with a release on CD and vinyl.

The platform will collaborate with Warner Classics to release 18 viral songs such as Alice Merton’s No Roots and flute-filled riff Monkeys Spinning Monkeys, as performed by Germany’s Babelsberg Film Orchestra.

Other track’s include the trending Wellerman Sea Shanty as posted by Scottish postman Nathan Evans in 2021 and piano piece Pieces by Danilo Stankovic, which was used in around 3.4 million TikToks.

The coming-together of two completely different worlds will certainly have TikTok users, classical music aficionados and music lovers in general definitely fascinated in the prospect.

Air Malta leases extra plane to meet demand as tourism continues to recover

As the tourism sector continues to bounce back after a 2-year blow due to the pandemic, national airline Air Malta is now leasing an extra plane and crew to meet increased travel demands this summer.

Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo took to Facebook to share this news in addition to the fact that the airline carried almost 270,000 passengers over a period of two months.

The airline’s chief commercial officer Roy Kinnear highlighted that the extra aircraft will aid Air Malta in facilitating the increased demand on travel including flights to Madrid, Prague, Lyon as well as charter flights to Warsaw.

Such high demand is expected to continue increasing during the summer months, with occupancy levels and seat load reaching record levels.

92-year-old Terry Lubrano Bencini winning The Imperial’s beauty pageant and celebrating with her late husband is the most wholesome news we’ve heard all year.

Bencini is a familiar face in the local broadcasting scene, garnering popularity locally as a singer, actress and Redifussion host between 1948 and the early ’70s.

Terry told Television Malta that she felt proud of herself after winning and saying “I did it”, going on to state that after winning, she spoke to her late husband Maurice who sadly passed away five months ago. “I told him, Maur, I made it”, she stated, going on to state that she speaks to him every single day.

Stranded luggage returns to Malta from Heathrow after week of chaos

Air Malta travellers who arrived via Heathrow last week can finally rest as waves of stranded luggage finally arrived on Friday.

The airline has been contacting the travellers involved, with around 100 bags stuck in Heathrow Airport’s baggage system in London amongst thousands of others.

The issue stirred chaos in London after a luggage conveyor belt malfunction, leading to thousands of luggages being stranded and social media going into a frenzy for the ridiculous amount of stranded luggage.

With regards to Malta, only one Air Malta flight was affected.
